• Question: What are your thoughts on the use of animal experiments in psychology (in terms of ethics as well as how useful they are - can the results really be applied to human behaviour)?

      I think they are vital for the development of medicines etc. However, I respect peoples views that it may be unethical. I certainly don’t agree with animal testing for cosmetics and wearing fur!

      This is a really difficult moral question. I personally don’t think they are ethical and should be avoided as much as possible. However, I do agree that for research on certain medicines or brain parts animal experiments can be very useful and important, and generalisable to humans.
