I don’t really know a whole lot about corals, I’m afraid! So I don’t know how much exactly has been damaged by humans. Corals are really sensitive to changes in their environment, and humans have polluted the sea, speeded up the climate change (which makes changes in the sea levels and temperature) and bring a lot of tourist divers around coral reefs. Also coral mining and overfishing both harm the corals a lot. If nothing is done to restrict these actions corals will keep bleaching and dying 🙁
Whilst a lot of coral damage is caused by humans (climate change and warming of the oceans), a lot of damaged is also caused by predators and natural weather systems (cyclones).
Nevertheless, we should be doing all we can to stop our impact!
