On a more task-specific level you can use techniques called mnemonics to remember things better (so you create simple memory rules for the things you want to remember, for example you can make short poems that rhyme or make up lists of only the first letters of things you are trying to remember).
On a more general level, there has been some evidence that exercising can improve your memory. Stress weakens your memory (the brain parts responsible for memory don’t like stress hormones) and a poor diet will do that too. Basically memory is about the connections in your brain, and how well these work, so taking care of your brain will keep your memory good!
