Question: Do you think your research would have the same results if you used song lyrics and titles, or book quotes?

This is a great question! 🙂 It could be – people might associate these (especially songs) with emotional events they have experienced and react differently. However, because I need to strictly control the word stimuli I’m using (for example on length and how common the words are), it would be really difficult to use quotes and parts of lyrics. This is why I’m using single words, it’s the easiest way to keep it controlled for any other effects that might be there 🙂
